The Founding and Growth of the LA Kabbalah Centre

Hollywood celebrities have been associated with the practice of Kabbalah and the Los Angeles Kabbalah Centre for an extended period of time. Actors who have passed on and were involved with Kabbalah to varying degrees in their lifetimes include Sammy Davis, Jr., Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe.

A growing number of Hollywood actors, together with other celebrities, have become associated with the Los Angeles Kabbalah Centre. Perhaps the most famous person in this group of celebrities is iconic songstress, Madonna. Madonna has been involved with the practice of Kabbalah for years, and is a major figure associated with the Los Angeles Kabbalah Centre.

Madonna has been instrumental in establishing different branch centers associated with the Kabbalah Centre. In addition, she is a major financial supporter of the Kabbalah Centre.

Paris Hilton is another current celebrity who is associated with the Los Angeles Kabbalah Centre. She has told interviewers that the LA Kabbalah Centre was instrumental in assisting her in getting through challenging periods of her life. This included her notorious breakup with Nick Carter.

The LA Kabbalah Centre opened its doors in 1984. Prior to commencing operations in Los Angeles, the Kabbalah Centre was located in New York City. While in New York City, the Kabbalah Centre was known as The National Research Institute of Kabbalah. The National Research Institute of Kabbalah started its operations in 1965.

The National Research Institute of Kabbalah was derived from the YeshivahKol Yehuda in Israel. The YeshivahKol Yehuda was established in 1922, even before the founding of the modern Jewish state.

People interested in accessing Kabbalah learning through the Kabbalah Centre do not need a background in Jewish or Hebrew texts. This represents a significant departure from the manner in which Kabbalah practices and traditions historically were taught to people interested in it. As a result, the LA Kabbalah Centre has made Kabbalah far more widely accessible to women and men from all walks of life.
