Securus Technologies has developed many patents that have advanced the prison telecommunications industry, and now they are undertaking certifications to enhance their reputation with their customers. Just recently, PRNewswire announced that eleven field workers at Securus received the BICSI Installer 1 Certification, a certification covering installations of fiber optic equipment, copper wiring, and wireless technologies. BICSI is an organization that covers the telecommunications and information technology industries, and their certifications are recognized worldwide. Securus Technologies’ vice president of operations, Danny de Hoyos is proud of this achievement and says it will further Securus’s expertise standing with its customers, and that BICSI was the perfect program to enroll in.
Securus Technologies is a complete inmate telecom company that manages all correctional communications and infrastructure in over 3,000 facilities across the US. The company is based in Dallas Texas and has served the inmate communications industry since 1986. Securus has won awards and honorable mentions for its patents and its outstanding customer service. Securus manages the phone systems for most facilities, providing inmates and their families with prepaid options or direct billing options. At one time, Securus gave inmates in Louisiana free phone calls when the floods took place in the Baton Rouge area.
Inmates also have been able to visit with their families at more flexible times and share moments during holidays and birthdays, thanks to Securus’s video visitation system. With this program, families who have a webcam and internet access can have face time with any incarcerated loved ones without having to travel. Inmates have a self-service system with Securus’s kiosks and tablet system in which they can receive mail, purchase mp3s or movies, enroll in college courses, or file complaints to appropriate administration officials. Law enforcement officers are given alerts in the event of crimes being committed or important investigations going on through Securus’s Investigator Pro or THREADS programs.
