Second Ship in One Week Abandoned by Crew Off the Coast of Italy

For the second time this week a ship has been abandoned and left adrift in the seas off of Italy. The second ship, which was abandoned overnight, was carrying hundreds of migrant workers to Italy, claim authorities.

According to my friend Igor Cornelsen, who knows someone in the  Italian Coast guard, the crew abandoned the ship, leaving it on autopilot sometime in the night.

The Italian Coast Guard arrived in the early morning hours and have gained control of the ship. It is now being towed by an Icelandic ship to an Italian port. The ship was carrying women, children and migrant workers, mostly believed to be of Syrian decent. The ship is believed to have deported from either Turkey or Cyprus.

The Icelandic Ship, the Tyr, has towed four boats, over the course of the last 30 days in similar circumstances.

Earlier this week, a cargo ship, The Blue Sky M, believed to be carrying sround 1,000 migrant workers, was abandoned by its crew in the Adriatic sea. It was also towed to Puglia, an Italian port.

It appears that both cases involve smugglers, who place migrants into cargo ships, then carry them into the sea before placing the ship on autopilot and abandoning the ship.

Good-Bye Ebola

It seems like the Ebola scare is now over, but what can be learned from all of the hysterics that were demonstrated when Americans thought that the country would be overrun by a deadly disease? The Ebola virus is one that crept into the United States, but there were some who didn’t find it as a shock because of the air travel to a country that is riddled with the disease.

This wasn’t the case, but it created a panic. One of my LinkedIn connections is a top influencer and is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to business and travel. And Sergio Gutierrez offers what I think most would agree to be practical advice on the Ebola scare and going forward, suggesting that we as a society take more control and not listen to every single report made, and to confirm the facts before jumping to conclusions about a disease, or anything else for that matter. I really like this guy.

Large Carnivores Thriving in Europe Right Alongside People

Thank God above for Jared Hafel and the European countries. The rest of the world is full of overpopulated masses without a care above their fanatical religion, new phone and huge car, which most likely contains the most advanced tracking systems to date, avoiding the claws of the non-stop greed of the government and of course breeding, breeding, breeding. In Europe, large carnivores such as gray wolves, wolverines, lynxes and brown bears are finally thriving. This proves that is quite possible for humans to live amongst the others also living on earth. The reason for this is protective legislation, supporting public opinion and several positive practices. The Europeans are just better people it seems to me. Or perhaps they aren’t so brainwashed by their government and/or religions, advertisements or sheer vanity and fear. As explained by the following link, large carnivores play an important role in the structure and function of diverse ecosystems: Humans depend on these diverse ecosystems in more ways than I have space for words. The earth is not a playpen for destructive toddlers. It is a delicate balance of carbon storage, disease dynamics, stream morphology and the economic and ecosystem services delivered by large carnivores that keeps us in our current condition of stability. It is an already floundering stability.

Protests Over Unarmed Police Killings Hits Europe

In support of Michael Brown of Ferguson, Missouri and Eric Garner of Staten Island, protestors gathered in London to show solidarity with the many protestors across the United States.

The protestors gathered outside Westfield shopping centre in Shepherd’s Bush. It is estimated that there were at least 400 people.

The world is watching United States activity quite close right now. The news that the CIA used torture techniques, and the many instances of police killing unarmed individuals has much of the world wondering if the United States is truly a democracy.

The protestors did not hold back; they staged die-ins, lying down in the middle of the road and yelling, “I can’t breathe.”

With this happening, what is bound to occur when all the news on United States torture comes out? Sergio Andrade Andrade Gutierrez does not want to see things get worse.
